Write the benefit in one sentence
An offer has a small window to make sense. Start with what the shopper receives, not a description of your marketing campaign. Say which product, service or experience is included and what makes the offer worth considering.
If the benefit takes several qualifications to explain, simplify the offer itself before polishing the headline. A strong image cannot resolve conflicting conditions. The promise on the offer card, the details page and the explanation at checkout should all agree.
Decide the audience and the boundaries
Choose whether the offer is intended for public discovery or a relevant selected audience. Public and personalised offers serve different purposes, but both need clear eligibility. Do not let the headline imply universal access when membership or other conditions apply.
Write down participating outlets, validity dates, eligible products, redemption limits and exclusions. If stock or appointment availability matters, explain how the shopper can check it. A retailer should confirm these details before publication rather than relying on staff to interpret them later.
Show the thing people will receive
Use imagery that represents the actual product or experience. Avoid an attractive photograph of a premium item if the offer applies to a different range. Where an image is illustrative, make that distinction clear enough to prevent an expectation gap.
Keep text in the page as well as the artwork. That makes the offer easier to read on a phone and more accessible to people using assistive technology. Give each image a useful description and keep essential conditions out of tiny text embedded in a picture.
Prepare the store team
Walk through the offer with the staff who will fulfil it. They need to recognise it, understand what counts as a valid redemption and know what to do when something is unclear. Assign a contact for exceptions so the shopper is not sent between teams.
Test the experience from discovery to checkout. Check the offer on a phone, follow its instructions and confirm that the store can honour what it says. This operational rehearsal is often more useful than another round of headline revisions.
Give the offer an owner after launch
Publication is the start of maintenance. Decide who updates availability, responds to questions and removes an expired offer. If conditions change, ensure that the platform and store team receive the same information.
